Today we will be giving you some helpful hints on how to get your home ready for the cold winter months ahead. Winter is almost here, and you want to make sure you do these things around the house in order to prevent any issues that may pop up throughout the season.
- Winterize your irrigation system. You want to blow the water out of the line so it doesn’t freeze and cause problems with your pipes.
- Clean your gutters out to prevent leaks.
- Remove hoses from exterior spigots. You can get a cap that fits over the exterior faucet at any hardware store here in town.
- Service your furnace and change your furnace filter.
- Check and add caulk as necessary around doors and window frames to prevent air leaks.
- If you have a fireplace, clean it and service it.
- Make sure your snowblower is in good and working order.
