We moved to the Indiana Design Center a couple of years ago. Today, Andrea Kleymeyer, the Marketing Director, joins us to discuss some of the unique options we can offer our clients.

The Indiana Design Center is a great place if you want to make updates to your home. You can even start from scratch when you're moving into a new home!

There are many different showrooms for you to see. We're coming to you from Drapery Street, but we have showrooms for window coverings, counter tops - anything you need in your home! There are also designers and artists available to help homeowners.

In addition, the Indiana Design Center runs workshops and other special events. The Monthly Design Series offers workshops on the third Tuesday of each month at 10:30 am. Different designers lead the workshops. The upcoming topic is Design Dilemmas, where you can come in with a design problem and a designer will guide you through it. Later this year, there will be workshops for holiday decorations.

The Indiana Design Center is a wonderful place to find inspiration for your home. For more information, visit www.IndianaDesignCenter.com. As always, if you have any real estate questions, give us a call or send us an email. We look forward to hearing from you!

The Top 3 Things You Need to Do Before Listing Your Indianapolis Home

Since September is natural preparedness month, I thought I'd answer a question I get from a lot of sellers: "What can I do to prepare my home for the market?" Here are our top three tips:

  1. Declutter your home. Go through room by room and look for unnecessary furniture or toys. Pack up a few things and store them; you're going to be moving them eventually anyway. Take family photos off the walls. Make the home look as neutral and spacious as possible.
  2. Update lighting fixtures. If you have the brass look, definitely make sure to change up the light fixtures. For minimal cost, you can find some nice fixtures that will make your home look updated.
  3. Deep clean your entire home. Prospective buyers will open drawers and look behind shower curtains, so make sure everything is sparkling clean. Vacuum thoroughly and organize as much as you can.

The time you spend getting your home ready for the market is the most important part of the listing. Taking some time to prepare can maximize your sale price and minimize the amount of time your home sits on the market.
